Merry Christmas!

I hope that you have a wonderful 2016 and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support throughout this year.

Undoubtedly, the most important event of the year for this webpage was the launch of the Australian Liberty Alliance.

This organisation has grown rapidly and will provide many Australians with hope in 2016. I am honoured to have been selected as the Australian Liberty Alliance’s Queensland Senate candidate.

2015 has also been a year of triumph in the face of adversity and it would not have been possible without your assistance, generosity and encouragement.

Perhaps the most pleasing win of the year was the back down that we were able to force from the Australian Army after it proposed to change the hat badge of Australian Army chaplains to appease the sensibilities of the newly-appointed, pro-Sharia military imam.

This is what a Defence spokesperson told the Daily Telegraph on 20 November, 2015:

“The motto of the Australian Army Chaplains is being changed to better reflect the diversity of religion throughout the Australian Army,” she said.

“The new wording on the Australian Army Chaplaincy badge is under consideration and no decision has been made at this time.”

This was my response:

“The government must stop the political correctness. It must dismiss the Defence imam for his views. And it must put Australia first.”

And this is what the Department of Defence stated just three days later, after a massive public backlash:

“A change to the Australian Army Chaplaincy badge is not a matter the Chief of Army is currently considering.”

While the imam remains, this shows that when ordinary Australian speak up we can protect our country and its institutions from politically-correct attacks. We’ll work on the second half of this battle in the next 12 months!

Other key victories include:

• protecting freedom of speech in the Federal Court, with a decision ruling that the Chief of Defence Force unlawfully terminated my commission for the expression of private political views,
• limiting state-based anti-free speech laws, preventing them from being used by militant activists based in New South Wales against anyone in Australia,
• priming the halal certification industry for a knock out blow, supporting the campaign led by Kirralie Smith with a detailed submission to the Senate inquiry into halal certification supported by over 8,000 Australians.

However, as always, victory is never assured and the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. Both legal victories are now under appeal.

The New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal will hear an appeal against its decision on 1 April 2016. This was lodged by anti-free speech activist, Gary Burns. This is not surprising. He openly opposes free speech and is intent on silencing the Australian Liberty Alliance, which he claims is a terrorist organisation. However, he is happy to support radical Islamist, Zaky Mallah.

The Chief of Defence Force has also lodged an appeal against the Federal Court decision handed down earlier this month. Again, considering official Defence Twitter accounts have been used to attack the Australian Liberty Alliance, it is hardly surprising that the organisation charged with defending Australia’s freedom is now going back to the Federal Court in an attempt to restrict freedom of speech in Australia. You would expect nothing less from a politicised military.

No doubt, there will be new battles to fight in 2016, not least of which will be contesting the next federal election.
