Remove Gender Queer from Logan City Council Libraries

Logan City Council has been loaning Gender Queer: a memoir by Maia Kobabe to children since 2019.

Among other things, Gender Queer promotes and pornographically depicts:

• masturbation and an 11 year old girl engaged in this act;
• homosexual activity and sexual behaviour;
• pederasty and a man engaged in homosexual activity with a boy; and
• sex toys, ‘strap ons’ and ‘dildos’ and sexual activity between two women.

Gender Queer also promotes a certain pornographic studio and website that appears to specialise in extremely depraved pornography in the context of rape, forced and/or coerced sexual activity, incest, public humiliation, violence and slavery.

Logan City Council has agreed to remove Gender Queer from library shelves. However, it has decided that there is nothing wrong with this book and it is still available for children to borrow from its libraries.
