Today members of the Australian Liberty Alliance received an email from the party’s president, Debbie Robinson, informing them that the party would be placed on hold and that it would not be contesting upcoming state elections for a number of reasons. However, the party will continue to operate a skeleton staff and Kirralie Smith will become its public face and voice.
I support both these decisions and congratulate Kirralie. She is one of our great national champions and I have no doubt that she will do an impressive job, as she always has, of highlighting the issues that face Australia . Her passion and clarity are sorely needed in the public sphere.
However, there can be no doubt that this decision was not an easy one for the Board to take.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of the Board of the Australian Liberty Alliance for their courage, hard work, vision and sacrifice. While the party may not have achieved the success it had hoped for at the election, there can be no doubt that it has reshaped the face of Australian politics.
As a result of the Board’s efforts to form an organisation prepared to directly address the threat of Islam, political discourse in Australia has changed and for the better. The cone of silence has been cast aside. We now have a broad range of Australians, from politicians like Pauline Hanson to celebrities like Sonia Kruger, willing to publicly oppose Islam. The major parties are hurting at the ballot box because Australians now know that they can vote for other candidates who will defend Australia from this most dangerous of ideas.
Speaking against Islam is not an easy thing to do in a nation where politically-correct toxins have poisoned debate against anyone willing to speak their mind. It takes courage and confidence.
The Board of the Australian Liberty Alliance has helped to provide that courage and confidence for all Australians. It has helped put Islam into the centre of public debate. And now that it is there, it will be defeated.
I am proud to have worked with the Board during the campaign in Queensland. The Australian Liberty Alliance built a formidable campaign team – the fourth largest in the state – in just eight months. This decision does not mean that this campaign team is packing up and going home.
There are new fights ahead of us; a state election is just around the corner. I look forward to working with this team into the future as we now consider all options ahead of us. But one thing is clear: the last election saw a significant shift in the political sands. The Australian Liberty Alliance played a large part in that.
Change is afoot and I have no doubt that the Queensland campaign team can provide enormous support to see that this change is reinforced and occurs rapidly and effectively.
The Board’s decision does not mean the end of our journey. This is just the next step on a much bigger adventure.

Bernard, thanks for your efforts but you are strong enough to continue the ‘fight’. I cannot see the benefit of spending your time and money supporting candidates for the State election. You and all the ALA supporters were trying to get candidates into the Federal Parliament. What influence will standing candidates in the State elections have on changing Federal politics?

You all did really well considering only a new party and the obstacles that were in your way. Have every faith you will be in next time. Love to see you Bernie as our future Prime Minister. Thankyou for all your hard work.

Thanks Bernie. ALA definitely has a good future ahead. We will keep building.

Macquarie electorate is with you Bernard.

This is a great opportunity for the ALA, supporters, friends and fellow travellers to get together in small groups. The policy swag needs looking at.
The health policy of the ALA particularly needs a re-think. Not good enough to cut and paste the Liberal National party line – especially on mandatory vaccination (no jab-no pay). Shame commercials from Aunty Oz featuring tragic babies hospitalised with whooping cough are no substitute for discussion and independent science (research not driven by Big Pharma $$). It is a fact that vaccination does not guarantee immunity. Many vaccinated children get whooping cough (and are contagious). And the gov’t refuses to acknowledge vax as a cause of autism – and a host other immune related disorders.
The ALA in small groups should also look at gov’t efforts (both parties) to destroy small business and industries like the fishing industry with green tape.

Sad but onwards and upwards. Have donated Bernard.

appreciate your commitment.

This is very exiting news! When two parties are united in their goals it makes sense to combine. Lib/Nat did it! Let’s go get em!
