Warren Entsch should apologise

The Liberal Member for Leichhardt, Warren Entsch, has recently confirmed double standards at play in our society.

Islam is protected, and when Muslims rampaged violently through our nation’s largest city because they disliked a second-rate You Tube video, politicians fell over themselves to condemn this film as offensive.

Yet, just this week, Warren Entsch himself used the name of Jesus Christ in a base and derogatory manner.

It’s time for Christians to fight back and demand respect. I’m not suggesting that they resort to bomb threats or violent mob protests, as the Islamic community does all too often. But they should demand that this elected representative at least show the same level of respect for Jesus Christ as he does for Mohammad.

And if Mr Entsch had any decency, he would apologise for his comments.

Attached below is a letter I sent to Warren Entsch today.

  1. AS a committed Christian, I am appalled that a Member of Parliament, albeit one known for his outrageous and often eccentric approach to civil matters, has used the name of our Saviour as a comical device in what can only be described as a satiric attack on the opposition of the day! When will we be protected by a half decent Bill of Christian Rights similar to what seems to be protecting other religions in Australia – seemingly at our expense. With the obvious government/UN backing for a multicultural diaspora, we see daily examples of halal food being given prominence, Islamic festivals running amok in even our largest cities and towns and even Hinduism being taught as a viable “alternative” religion in school scripture classes. I imagine that there’s be an inquiry if someone used a Hindu God’s name in a blasphemous manner in the Parliament!
