Why Malcolm Turnbull doesn’t have the guts to ban Hizb ut Tahrir

Hizb ut Tahrir has a distinguished record in Australia.

The Coroner’s report into the Lindt Café terrorist attack details in great detail the lengthy association between Hizb ut Tahrir and Man Haron Monis.

And this can hardly be surprising.

Hizb ut Tahrir is associated with:

Given all of this, one must wonder why this organisation has not been banned due to threat it poses to the safety of Australians.

One answer to this question lies with Duncan ‘There’s-no-link-between-refugees-and-terrorism’ Lewis. He’s the head of ASIO who has covered himself in glory recently by doing his best to hide the fact that almost every terrorist incident in recent times has drawn inspiration from the Koran.

Today, he’s advised the government not to ban Hizb ut Tahrir.

That’s one answer.

The other is this: banning Hizb ut Tahrir will take a bit of ticker. It’ll mean standing up to a large number of sympathisers within the Islamic community, including the Defence imam.

But here are some others who have publicly backed Hizb ut Tahrir, signing a petition in 2015 that stated this:

5) We strongly oppose Prime Minster Abbott’s politically convenient threats to ‘tackle’ and ‘crack down’ on Islamic groups such as Hizb ut-Tahrir who disavow and have never supported terrorist acts, and whose only ‘crime’ has been to criticise the Abbott Government’s stance towards Muslims domestically and abroad, as they are well within their rights to do. We also oppose the bullying of Sheikh Dr Ibrahim Abu Muhammad by Mr Abbott for his criticism of Mr Abbott’s attempts to silence individuals’ and organisations’ legitimate criticisms of his policies.

Regardless of how you look at this, there’s 70 Islamic organisations that have backed Hizb ut Tahrir. Australia, we have a problem…

And this doesn’t even take into account the ‘prominent personalities’ who also signed this petition, including the President of the Australian National Imam’s Council.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull just doesn’t have it the guts to handle this mob. He’d rather do nothing and watch this situation worsen.

And if that’s bad enough, all the indications are that Bill Shorten will be PM after next election…

  1. And what is this about Waleed Aly’s ‘Islamic Council’?

We have Hizb ut Tahrir. That Waleed has an Islamic Council and now every Poster Muslim going to want one is nothing short of insanity.

Waleed’s Council is demanding safe spaces where Muslim youth can speak freely on ‘inflammatory subjects’. Get this. Budding jihadis don’t have to use PC. They are being told by Waleed’s Council they should have publicly funded safe spaces where they can speak freely.

Let the Political Traitor Class give Australians some safe spaces where we can discuss these issues without PC and threats of litigation.

  3. Malcolm Turnbull is more like the Wizard of Oz than Prime Minister of Oz.
When he is talking/acting behind the curtain, he wants to take the tough talk/act
stance of words, but when the curtain is pulled back and the revelation of a man
who wears an empty suit.Using the context of double speak and shallow in-depth rhetoric,
he clearly does not have Australia’s best interests at heart and has been put in
place as PM to serve by both inside and outside special interest groups.

  5. My father and maternal grandfather were both Liberal MPs and founder-members of the Party. My father was a Senator and briefly a State Premier and I have been twice an endorsed Liberal candidate. For the first time in my life I will not be voting Liberal at the next election. I believe the only hope for the party’s continued existence and for Menzies-Liberalism to survive to rebuild as a force in Australian politics is for Turnbull and his gang to receive a defeat so shattering that there can be no question of any of them remaining. I think the Liberals have no hope a retaining government now, nor do they deserve to – they have betrayed every Liberal value, but every day that passes with Turnbull in the lodge diminishes their chances of even bare survival. Turnbull must go!

  6. The PM has been busy in Parliament this week. He is on the offensive against commonsense. He has pontificated in the Parliament: those who say there is a link between refugees and terrorism are blaspheming one of the world’s great religions.

Blaspheme? Since when did blasphemy ever count for anything in Australian public debate? One of the world’s great religions whose members practicing corporal works of mercy actually built much of the social infrastructure of Australia is routinely blasphemed and derided in public discourse. No one bats an eye. But if Islam is blasphemed. Well. The PM is going to denounce that in parliament.

    Disgusting. Beyond disgusting. Infuriating.

  7. Perhaps there’s something in the water up there in Brisbane….Re Number 4 on the list above…. Cripes, this would be up with the best of The Two Ronnies, and the late Dave Allen etc. etc…
And in response to Diane A’s comment.. as much as Pauline’s heart is in the right place, I would much prefer someone of the calibre of Nigel Farage, a man who is difficult to bring undone, because he tells the truth! ! ! Hopefully, Cori Bernardi will be Australia’s saviour…. We sure need one…

Captain of the ship sailing away from tough decisions relating to Islam which is proving so anti Australian. Ban Halal Certification, deport families disrespecting our anthem, our flag and our laws.

  16. This is frightening I live in Werribee Victoria and I’m in the eye of storm, I never really knew the scope of the invasion I thought it was just here where I live but these numbers are truly staggering. In my street there are twenty houses 5 of them are muslim but each of their households are made up of two parents and ( no exaggeration) 6 kids whilst the rest of us one maybe two , because we need to go to work to provide the taxes to fund the taxpayers religious grants. What the hell are we to do?

Sole purpose of group is to preach hate and downfall of civilization as we know it. Malcolm start putting the safety and security of our country as your ‘primary’ role.

  19. Did anyonevelse notice that ALL those who signed the 2015 were of Muslim background? Of course they’re goingvto sign it.

There is very good reason why Hizb ut Tahrir has been banned in at least 13 countries. ALL government parties in Australia need to take heed of the reasons why these countries have taken this stance ss the decision.woukd not gave veen made lightly. Australia need to move to ban it within this country before it it’s too late.

  20. No other immigrants that have come to our country have ever demanded anything like this but have intigrated and added to our culture.
This is certainly not the case now and it’s time to do something radical to change the situation before it’s too late.
It will take great courage to stand against this threat to our way of life.

  23. Hizb ut Tahrir have been banned in 13 countries for good reason, publicly encouraging muslims to kill Apostates & homosexuals, honour killings, they support domestic violence, segregating men & women, encourage muslim children to get up & walk out during the National Anthem & to boycott ANZAC Day commemorations. Islamic traditions are not moderate, they do not support freedom (They support Sharia Law, they do not support democracy nor do they support Australian values!
