A letter to Defence Minister Marise Payne

Over 5,000 Australians have signed the petition calling on the Defence Minister, Marise Payne, to ensure the Australian Defence Force remains apolitical.

Defence is currently supporting a dinner for DEFGLIS – an organisation that campaigns for homosexual marriage – on 23 September. Defence has also previously sponsored DEFGLIS with thousands of dollars.

This is completely unacceptable at any time, but particularly during the national postal vote survey on marriage.

I sent this letter to the Marise Payne a few days ago and I spoke to her office this morning. I have been told that a response is coming…possibly at the end of September.

I was also told that Defence has not sponsored DEFGLIS.

Yet these documents are up on the Defence website under the FOI section:

DEFGLIS sponsorship

They clearly show that in 2015 Defence gave thousands of dollars to this organisation. And the DEFGLIS website is advertising that Defence Pride, a new LGBT network within Defence, is supporting this dinner once again…

  1. The Quiet Australians voted the Morrison Govt. in but three useless Ministers need to go:
Tehan is not far behind this trio.
Australian people need more bang for their buck than this lot.

  2. In a Westminster system such as our own, it is essential for the electors to engage in the political debate and to field members to Parliament tasked with positions that stem from electoral mandate.

The government has a mandate for this plebiscite. And law enforcement is standing down (probably that should be – being stood down) from protecting electors exercising our right to assemble and discuss and organise the contra position.

In a political context like this, the use of the military in a partisan way is the use of the national force of arms to engage the debate and this effect, especially where police military or otherwise are brought in, is to in effect shut down debate and to disrupt the right of people to freely and peacefully assemble, discuss, debate and organise.

From the way the political elites, the media and the various branches of government are treating electors who are trying to engage in a process that has an electoral mandate, it is not to difficult to forecast how the change in the marriage act (should it go through on an affirmative vote) will be used as an instrument of repression, censorship and social engineering.

  3. This current government is totally dysfunctional and is incapable of running Australia in a manner that befits our proud history. Marise Payne is probably among the worst of the LNP ministers and was clearly a terrible choice for what is the third most important government post.

  6. Marise Payne, you are meant to be representing AUSTRALIANS, not the other way around. If you only want to promote your own personal agenda instead, we have only TWO words to say to you for the good of our country and for the next generation: “YOU’RE FIRED!” ???⚖️?❤️

  7. Is Payne a lesbian? She is apparently totally anti heterosexual males and seems to be bent on the emasculation of the defence force. This appears to be a dangerous social experiment which will seriously denigrate the forces capacity to defend our nation. Tantamount to treason???
