Geese of the Week – 10 May 2013

It’s time for the next installment of Geese of the Week. Once again, the last seven days have seen no shortage of silly behaviour.

Number 3 – Adam Bandt

The sole Greens MP in the House of Representative knows his time is running out, so he has plunged headlong into goosedom and announced that the latest bill in multiple attempts to legalise gay marriage will be voted on next month. The date set is June 6.

However, given that voters in The Greens’ most popular state, Tasmania, loudly rejected gay marriage just last weekend, it appears he actually doesn’t have all that much support from the public for another episode of radical social change.

It looks as if his bill will fail, much like German defences did in Normandy on June 6, 1944. Happily, the more voters hear about gay marriage, the less of them vote for The Greens. Both of these are good things.

Adam Bandt. What a goose.

Number 2 – GetUp!

I have a feeling GetUp! will be regular contributors to the Geese of the Week column. They just can’t help their silliness and goosey genes abound within the organisation’s DNA.

GetUp! is fresh from failure in Tasmania but that hasn’t stopped them from embarking upon another pet project of theirs – euthanasia. However, just like gay marriage, the legalised killing of Australia’s elderly is just not something that is given much chop in this country.

It is a reminder, however, that GetUp! are a dangerous bunch with a radical agenda. They are nothing but a front for The Greens and it seems people are catching on. I hope they blow all their money and that this campaign turns out to be more lethal for them than it does for ordinary Australians.

GetUp! are wolves in sheep’s clothing, with the brains of geese.

Number 1 – Greg Combet

You kind of have to feel sorry for anyone who is an ALP Minister. You could collectively call them the anti-Midaseses because they turn gold into something that resembles a large, putrid and rapidly expanding sewerage farm. Their power is derived from their goosey policies.

The carbon tax has been a failure from the start and it’s only going to get worse for the Climate Change Minister. He’s managed to effectively steer this disaster into a Titanic-sized catastrophe, both in terms of electoral support and economic outcomes. The carbon price has collapsed, most probably due to a lack of interest and the fact that in the real world people see the climate change fraud for what it is.

Greg Combet and Labor were warned but went ahead with this silly policy anyway. As a result his goose will be cooked on September 14.
