Why homosexual activists should applaud Senator Bernardi

Of course Senator Cory Bernardi is right.

Recognising homosexual and lesbian relationships will result in pressure to recognise other forms of sexual relationships. Like polygamy. Maybe even bestiality.

Cory Bernardi is not saying that homosexuals want polygamous relationships. Nor is he saying that they engage in bestiality.

But what he is saying is common sense.

If you have a word that means one thing and then decide it can mean something else because a minority section of society feels excluded, you are opening the doors for any other group that wants a bit of the action as well.

And polygamy is very much a sexual relationship that a growing section of society wants recognised.

I’m not talking about the 40 odd weirdos who signed a petition for recognition of their orgy-like, free-love sexual relationships. I’m talking about a much more powerful force.

Within a decade, there will be more Muslims in Australia than homosexuals. And they believe polygamy is lawful.

So who are the homosexual activists to state that they can change the meaning of a word but Muslims can’t?

And, going on the evidence and worldwide trends, how do homosexuals activists think they can stop a growing Islamic community from exerting political power to get what they want?

Now, it is continually pointed out by homosexual activists that gay marriage is not recognised in countries that allow polygamy. As if that is something to be comforted by. It’s not.

If they were smart they might realise that countries that recognise polygamy are mostly Islamic.

Now, me being ungay, I don’t really care. Islamic beliefs in this area won’t really affect me.

But any homosexual activist who can put two and two together should realise this: a growing Islamic population in a democratic society is empowered by homosexual political activism to undermine societal norms.

That is because the LGBTI community is engaging on a trail-blazing revolution to weaken the fundamentals of society.

And the goal of any good Muslim is to establish the Islamic religion as the controlling force in society.

So when homosexuals win, it is proof that Islam can win as well. Especially if you do the maths and realise that the Islamic population and the homosexual population are on two different trajectories.

If gay marriage is legalised, it is inevitable that there will also be calls for polygamy.

And, unless things change in Australia, those calls will become irresistible, thanks largely to the precedent set by homosexual activists and the political power of a much larger minority.

And, sometime after polygamy is recognised, the same sections of society that pushed it through will start advocating for a rollback of homosexual rights. Not just their marriage rights. But their right to freedom. And their right to life.

Because, unlike Christianity, Islam doesn’t play nice with homosexuality.

  1. It has been over a year since anyone added to this thread. It is the case that a possible majority of Australian support same sex marriage. It is certainly the case that most Australians do not support polygamy. A prudent course of action would be to seek a referendum so as to amend the constitution to restrict the institution of marriage to a union between two people. It could then be left to the Commonwealth to legislate on the subject of same sex marriage, but the Commonwealth would be constrained from allowing any form of polygamous marriage. Those who seek same sex marriage would be wise to support this course of action as those who support polygamy tend to be those who actually would stone gays to death. Those who do not support same sex marriage but who do not support polygamy should also support such a constitutional amendment. This is because regardless of whether or same sex marriage is ever legislated, those who’s religion supports polygamy are rapidly growing in number and they will seek the legalisation of polygamy regales of what happens on the issue of same sex marriage.

  2. Am I the only one who thinks same sex marriage will only do one thing in Australia? Gay people will get married……and that’s it. I don’t think much else will change except for…..gay people…..getting married. Amazing.

  3. It’s pretty clear isn’t it Bernard?

In the homosexual lobby “getting what they want”, they are opening the door to “get what they don’t want”.

Reading some of the posts here, it’s amazing the level of untruth that is bandied around.

Top of the tree is the “born that way” lie – no homosexual gene has every been found.

Then there’s the distortion of what Bernardi has said. When you read some of the responses you wonder if they actually read the his comments at all.

    • So if homosexual aren’t “born that way” then you are saying they choose to be homosexual.
Why would anybody choose to be homosexual when the world is full of bigots that are full of hate and then justify the hate behind a religion.
And what doors are the homosexual lobby opening to “get what they don’t want”

      • Why do people choose to become druggies? Why do people choose to kill themselves?

    • Gravity has not been found either…and is their a “hate homosexual” gene, because you certainly seem to have chosen it.

      • Bob, is your last name Katter? He got on Q&A and said that gravity is just a theory. One of the other panelists took Bob’s hat, put it in the air and let it fall to the desk. The hat experiment supported the ‘unfound’ theory 😀

      • Bruce…with my partner I could do a similar experiment with homosexuality…but it’s not for televising.

But seriously, if Kat, Phil etc are all so obsessed with same-sex attraction, then surely campaign to make it a criminal offence. At least have the courage to act on your ignorance and fear.

      • so Bob you admit homosexual acts are experiments, and not something you can adhere to love.
So use of each other for experimental selfish reasons is common I suspect.

        Ignorance and fear?
        Lol

      • Kat, it was a response to Bruce’s comment on Q & A experiment. An attempt at wit, but I dont think wit, laughter or joy feature prominently in your outlook.

  4. Now we know Bernard is not the sharpest tool in the shed…but Bernard, can’t you see Islam is in fact singing your tune…”freedom to practice religion”. Nothing to do with homosexual activists. One of your sillier raves about homosexuality.

  6. This article is wrong on so many levels. Bernard, you are the poster child for the most bigoted and narrow minded people in this country. Though, not entirely your fault. You can’t choose your upbringing and the beliefs that were bestowed on you, but you can choose to evolve and open your mind to people who are different to you. I urge you to get out there and meet some gay people. Talk to them. Ask about why they want to feel equal. (We’re not that scary mate). You will soon find that we are very normal people. We’re not all the stereotypical “poofs” you see prancing around in leather and covered in glitter (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I guess, I just don’t see things the way you do. There’s nothing to fear from me marrying my partner of 7 years. It’s not the slippery slope you seem to view it as. Its not the end of the world. Straight dudes are not going to wake up the day after and say, “hmmm I think I’ll marry a dude, now that I can”. Married (straight) couples will not see their marriage fall apart because Bob and Mark next door got married. And most importantly, Islam is not taking over our country. Our country is not run by any religion, never has been, never will be. The bottom line is, two people, consenting adults, who were born gay, who love each other will soon be able to marry each other. And you my friend – well… you’ll be just fine. 🙂 Peace.

    • I think we both know it won’t stop at the legal ability for a gay couple to marry. I’m not talking about polygamy or bestiality this time either. The fact is, once it’s legal, if it ever gets there and it probably will, gay people who happen to call themselves christians will be demanding that churches not be permitted to deny them a church marriage. Now, legal recognition is one thing, but that extra step of forcing it on religious institutions is a whole different matter. Don’t say it won’t happen, because if gay marriage is legalized it will happen in the name of gay “rights”. The activists in the gay community don’t give a hoot about others, all they care about are themselves, and will step on anyone’s toes as long as it achieves their goals.

      • webboy, your same shrill argument was used in the debate about decriminalisation of homosexuality…that it would lead to legal bestiality. Didn’t happen.Won’t happen. But same-sex parenting is happening – and so will same-sex marriage in the next decade. Get used to it. Oh, and your lesbian or gay relative will have a much better life for those advances.

      • Bob, i refuse to get used to it, so get used to it.

      • No one is asking you to have homosexual sex or marry someone of the same sex. And don’t fret, you are not alone, there are still people who hate black people/homosexuals/Catholics. Bigotry persists, most of us move ahead.

      • How is practicing homosexuality moving ahead? practicing homosexuality cuts ones live by around 20 years because the lives they lead are less than desirable. Pregression in regard to human health discourages practices that could lead to an early death or illness. smoking is bad for you because it is cancer causing, as is ecessive sun exposure, ths we have anti smoking ads and the slip slop slap message. it is also against thw law to inject harmful substances into your veins because it physically harms you, and leads to mental health problems and crime.
domestic violence amoung gay ” relationships” is more common than hetrosexual relationships.
practicing homosexuals are considred a high risk group minority in the medical profession and are generally very unhealthy people mentally as well as physically. Suicide rates are high amoung them as well and societys that have accepted their lifestyles as the norm like denmark holland etc still have very high suicide rates amoung them as well.
so as you can see no I will not get used to it, as these people deserve better than cutting their lives by 20 years.

      • I believe you responded to the wrong comment Bob. In this comment I made the claim that once gay marriage is legalized, religious institutions would be forced to marry gay people even if homosexuality conflicts with the beliefs held by that religious institution. I further pointed out that gay rights activists generally only care about 1 thing, themselves. But let me address your point. I did not say that bestiality WOULD be legalized, I said that a CALL TO legalize it will likely follow the legalization of gay marriage. Granting the ability for a gay couple to marry is a bit different to legalizing homosexual sex. You’re not just talking about legalizing an act done in private anymore, but you’re telling people to publicly accept gay relationships regardless of their beliefs. I don’t think it’s entirely out of the realm of possibility for bestialists/zoophiles to take courage from the legalization of gay marriage and make themselves heard.

    • My only beef with homosexuals is the lies they’re spreading. Kids need to know that there are risks associated with homosexuality. HIV and suicide affects many homosexuals. Pederasty is a dangerously common theme in the homosexual community, championed by homosexual rights groups, homosexual academics and homosexual publications. Kids need to know these things. The homosexuals need these issues to be spoken about in the public domain so that they can be given the help that they need. It would be cruel to sit by and watch them throw their lives away without saying anything.

  7. Kat, Rome fell AFTER it became Christian! Pagan Rome stayed strong (or regained it’s strength rapidly when it didn’t). When it became Christian it then fell.

And Christian Roman (im)morality wasn’t what stopped the Vandals and Goths from successfully sacking Rome (repeatedly), it was their military advantages. But eventually the Goths and Vandals got better at fighting back and then Christian Rome fell.

Try some history that’s not written by liars bearing false witness to mislead you with a liars agenda. Pagan Rome was decadent for centuries. Christianity was the official Roman Religion when it fell!

  8. Earth to Bernard, come in Bernard!
Marriage has been redefined by every generation within living memory!
Women only recently became equal partners in a marriage! it’s only a few decades ago that this was not the case!
And the word marriage comes from the Romans, who had same-sex marriage including Emperor Elagabalus.

Meanwhile polygamy.. that was a Christian thing before Mohammed was even born! It’s right there in the bible if you care to take a look.

The Christians (well, some of them, fundamentalist Mormons are still christian) decided that it was one of the bits of the bible they could ignore, along with eating pork and shellfish and wearing cotton-blend socks… all banned alongside homosexuality in Leviticus.. but i guess it’s harder for the heterosexuals to say no to Bacon and mixed blend socks, so they get religiously unjustified exceptions while homosexuality doesn’t. (eat bacon, mixed-blend socks? You get to spend hell with the Gays!)

As for ‘societal norms’ why any decent person knows those are arbitrary and the worst way possible of separating right from wrong!
Slavery: once was a norm (and considered biblically justified too!)
Sexism: once was a norm (and considered biblically justified too!)
Racism: once was a norm (and considered biblically justified too!)
Persecuting Jews: once was a norm (and considered biblically justified too!)
Killing Witches: once was a norm (and considered biblically justified too!)
Catholic VS Protestant WAR and TERRORISM: once was a norm (and considered biblically justified too!)

We did have this cool thing called the Enlightenment. Where a new way of measuring right and wrong came up which we now call Human Rights. All that list of wrongs i just listed? Well Enlightenment philosophical principles correctly identified them each as wrong, so one by one the wrong gets righted. Gay marriage, Transgender and Intersex rights.. all just extensions of the same gradual application of these same principles to each of societies wrongs. Oh and guess where they got these ideas from? Jesus! Yep, good old Jesus and his Golden Rule. Of course Confucius said it 200 years before and thats the cool thing, not being based on a religious excuse it gets to apply to everyone. All fair and square. Why it even determines the right and wrong when differing viewpoints or even religions clash. Try giving it a try, and catch up with the 17th century, cause your a bit behind.

  9. One only has to look back in history to see that the one obvious sign that flags a civilisation imploding in on itself is moral decline, namely sexual immorality.
Causes for the Fall of the Roman Empire – Decline in Morals
One of the main causes for the Fall of the Roman Empire was the Decline in Morals. The decline in morals, especially in the rich upper classes, nobility and the emperors, had a devastating impact on the Romans. Immoral and promiscuous sexual behaviour including adultery and orgies. Emperors such as Tiberius kept groups of young boys for his pleasure, incest by Nero who also had a male slave castrated so he could take him as his wife, Elagabalus who forced a Vestal Virgin into marriage, Commodus with his harems of concubines enraged Romans by sitting in the theatre or at the games dressed in a woman’s garments. The decline in morals also effected the lower classes and slaves. Religious festivals such as Saturnalia and Bacchanalia where sacrifices, ribald songs, lewd acts and sexual promiscuity were practised. Bestiality and other lewd and sexually explicit acts were exhibited in the Colosseum arena to amuse the mob. Brothels and forced prostitution flourished. Widespread gambling on the chariot races and gladiatorial combats. Massive consumption of alcohol. The sadistic cruelty towards both man and beasts in the arena.

  11. This is just a bizarre, nonsensical argument. You’re suggesting that it is only the fact that Muslim people cannot legally have polygamous marriages in Australia today, that prevents them from “advocating for a rollback of homosexual rights”? Way to play on xenophobia and racism to make a logically derelict point.

  13. You realise that comparing marriage equality to beastiality is moronic, right?

You see, when two adults are grown up, they have this thing called “Consent.”

Now, when two people “consent” to marry each other, that means they’re allowed.

Animals can not give “Consent”. You cannot marry a dog because it can not “Consent” to doing so.

Did I explain that slowly enough for you or should I try again?

    Post a Reply
    • Glenn, you obviously haven’t read Peter Singer’s views on bestiality. Singer, once a Monash Bioethicist and founder of Animal Liberation and now a Princeton professor and philosopher of renown, claims animals can consent to sex with humans. Look him up.

    • You are deluded if you think legalizing gay marriage won’t lead to the call to legalize bestiality. You can keep saying it won’t until you’re blue in the face, but it won’t change the facts. Senator Bernardi is wrong about one thing though, people who love their pets romantically aren’t interested in marriage, because it’s pointless between a human and an animal, but are actually interested in the legalization of the sexual act itself. Grant gay marriage, and mark my words, bestialists/zoophiles will probably take courage from that and try to get bestiality legalized as well.
