The rainbow casts its shadow over the sporting field

This website will be welcoming a number of new regular columnists this year as it upgrades. As such, please say g’day to ‘The Full Bottle’ whose first post is below.

Just when the ‘anything-to-make-them-happy’ Yes voters thought they could return to their summer of cricket and hear no more about SSM, the new world of rainbow rules has made its way onto the sporting field. Unfortunately, for average, hetero-normative, cisgender Aussie blokes and sheilas, this is the new normal.

GOLDOC (Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation) has issued guidelines and instructions for the use of gender neutral language by volunteers, officials and contractors for the Games:

The Games Shapers handbook, which has been handed to 15,000 volunteers and official staff and contractors instructs workers to avoid phrases like “ladies and gentlemen” and “boys and girls”.

It also includes instructions to use the term parents instead of mother or father and partners, rather than husbands or girlfriends.

On planet GOLDOC, those associated with the Games in an employed or voluntary capacity are counselled to take an inclusive approach to groups of people and use terms like ‘Hey you lot’ or ‘Hi folks’ (no I am not making this up).

Speaking recently to Neil Mitchell on Radio 3AW, Dr Lauren Rosewarne (a lecturer in gender theory and feminist politics at Melbourne University), stated these guidelines were necessary:

We don’t want a silly slip up of Australia looking retrograde on the world stage…

When pressed to comment on whether the term ‘ladies and gentlemen’ was offensive, she gave a ‘no’ and a ‘but’, which means ‘yes’.

According to Dr Rosewarne, we can’t have visiting Canuck nonbinary rainbow families (gendered ‘Zv’ and ‘Zvi’ ) with 2.5 gender-queer children and a pet satyr thinking that Australians are a bunch of gender retards.

Just in case you thought this was a freaky one off, I have bad news. GOLDOC is not on its own. In fact, a Victorian government-led initiative could also see such violent words as batsmen and ruckmen replaced:

AN AFL ruckman should be known as a “ruckperson” and cricket batsmen referred to as “batspeople” under a Victorian-led push to reduce violence against women.

A university-led conference has called for gender-neutral language to be used across all sporting codes at every level…

…The project was commissioned by the Andrews Government’s Office of Prevention and Women’s Equality. Pilot testing of the recommendations is set to be carried out next year.

Unfortunately, the Australian Commonwealth Games and Australian sporting codes are only the latest Australian institutions to come under the Rainbow Arc.

Now firmly established on the platform of SSM, our Australian social life is being turned into theatre for identity politics, tranny grandstanding, toilet dramas, pronoun offenses, deployment of gender detectives, nanny lectures from the progressive Left and the clear possibility that second-rate male athletes, declaring themselves women, could do real and serious harm to female competitors (that would be the genetically XX variety for our non-cis readers).

This last seems to not even be on the radar of the feminist grievance industry.

So ‘hey you lot’ – what could go wrong?

*** Women ‘five times more likely’ to tear ACL ***

AFLW players are about five times more likely to rupture an anterior cruciate ligament than their male counterparts, leading sports medico Peter Brukner says. The opening two weeks of the NAB AFLW season have been blighted by a spate of season-ending knee injuries.

Western Bulldog Daria Bannister ruptured an ACL in round one and Carlton captain Brianna Davey suffered the same injury last Friday night against Greater Western Sydney. Bulldogs youngster Isabel Huntington also suffered a serious knee injury in Sunday’s win over Brisbane, with scans expected to confirm she too has ruptured an ACL.

Brukner told RSN radio on Monday morning this run of knee injuries could largely be explained by the fact women are significantly more vulnerable to ACL ruptures than men. “(Women) are something like five times more likely to tear their (anterior) cruciate than their male counterparts with equivalent activity,” Brukner said.

“There are number of reasons for it. The main reason is just mechanics, in that females have a wide pelvis and therefore are more bow-legged. “There’s more of an inclination for their knees to fall in when they twist, so that makes them more susceptible to doing an anterior cruciate.

  2. Well to be consistent there should not be any single gender competitions, so what are they going to call the mens 100 metres, or the womens 400 metres for example.Maybe xx 200m or xy 1500 but then are there going to be separate events for TG entrants as well. What about all the swimmers wearing the same costumes or maybe nude so that there can be no doubt as to who is in the xx or xy or lg races.
As to the comments by the learned professor, the only retrograde step Australia has taken is to institute this kind of nonsense.

  3. At the gender-less Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, I am particularly looking forward to the gender-less high-jump and gender-less wrestling.

  4. The next logical step is to ban discrimination in sport. There should be no such thing as the “Men’s Final” or the “Women’s final”. All players should be able to enter regardless of gender and it should happen now. Where is the equity in the current system that prevents the best from playing each other.?

    • What a great idea but wait, should a tennis grand slam match be played over three or five sets?

I will most definitely NOT be using any term except “batsman” and “ruckman,” so the Victorian government (I am Victorian myself), know what they can do to themselves, physically impossible as it may be!

  6. Dr Lauren Rosewarne says “…We don’t want a silly slip up of Australia looking retrograde on the world stage…”

Most likely we will become the laughing stock of the Commonwealth. I hope that there are notices all over the Commonwealth Games venues instructing participants not to be gender specific sporting under pain of being not allowed to participate. There is not enough space here to speak about the unreal expectations of the Minority Group – SSM got their wish so just leave it at that and stop trying to change everything. I have 1 question if an SSM has some adopted children and the couple then wants a divorce then how are the Courts to choose between the couple for prime care of the children?

    • Not for nothing did Dr Lauren refer to Canadians. They are much further down the slippery slope, getting on the bandwagon in 2005.

  7. What would happen if the whole 15000 volunteers said “”thank you for these guidelines, but we feel as we are all still men and women, wives and husbands, daughters and sons, ladies and gentlemen, we find this offensive. That might be more people than the 0.0000001% who may decide to take offence. Thank you and have a good day Mr or Mrs Chairman of the Games. Oh and by the way, the word “man”when used collectively includes women, so if you are a woman Chairman, it includes you too.

    • Why don’t these volunteer at the Goldcoast tell them all to get stuffed. Let the queers and the ones that don’t know what they are, do all the volunteering. They should get enough volunteers anyway as Australia is full of those sickos.
