Earlier this week I reported that numerous online retailers were selling books in Australia that had been banned because they contained child pornography.
Amazon Australia was one of those retailers and it is still peddling porn. It has not responded at all to my emails and the books are still available for sale on its website. You can get them delivered direct to your door.
Penguin Australia, on the other hand, did not sell these banned books directly, although they were advertised via affiliated networks. However, Penguin Australia has now pulled these books from its website.
I received this email a little earlier today:
Thank you Penguin Australia for doing the right thing and dumping these books.
Amazon Australia is still too busy celebrating the perversion of pride to deal with this issue…
Noooo. My delivery today – this has become such a cult! @AmazonAustralia enough is enough. We don’t need it slapped on our packages, on our shopping bags or on our public transport! pic.twitter.com/LIbv2JTNd1
