So, apparently religious education in Queensland needs to be overhauled.
Nasty Christians made some reference to the Jewish practice of animal sacrifice in the Old Testament. And so the Queensland Education Department stepped in. This, it has been found, presented “concerns in relation to animal ethics”.
In other news, the Queensland government’s webpage for religious diversity has this statement:
Tuckshop – providing healthy food and drink choices that meet the range of dietary requirements for students at the school e.g. halal, vegetarian.
Someone might like to let the Education Minister, Kate Jones, know that halal meat comes from an animal sacrifice. And it’s being fed to kids from the school canteen.
I’m sure she’ll step right in to deal with any concerns in relation to animal ethics.
